Our beachside town is full of local mom-and-pop-style shops that are both brand new and as old as generations. It's an endlessly charming aspect to living in a beach community ─ familiar faces that welcome you by name when you walk through the door. One of our favorite local family-owned coffee shops in San Clemente is ZebraHouse Coffee and Cafe. We can't recommend it enough, and our team has been known to bring their famous muffins into the office for special occasions.
ZebraHouse Coffee checks all of the boxes ─ it is a full service coffee bar that has been in San Clemente since 2011, but it is also so much more. Home to a complete breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu, there is nothing you'll leave feeling less than ecstatic with. Beyond the storefront, a journey is taken from every coffee bean to your coffee cup. ZebraHouse Coffee's coffee beans are roasted by the owner's family small-batch roastery and are organic. Yep, organic coffee! Their love for their craft is in the details, and you can taste it in every sip.
Compliments to the chef, because every menu item comes from a scratch-made full kitchen. When ZebraHouse mentions on their website "we are also famous for our muffins," they mean it. Exquisite, fluffy gourmet flavors (including gluten-free and vegan options) are baked fresh every single day. Some of our favorites that Echelberger Group has tried in our office and loved lately were the Lemon Poppyseed, Pumpkin Cinnamon, and Banana Walnut. We've seen them have other mouthwatering flavors like Strawberry Cheesecake, Almond Pistachio, Key Lime Poppyseed, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Coconut Raspberry Chocolate Chip! The options are limitless and rotate frequently ─ when ordering muffins online, you are actually encouraged to call to ask what the flavors of that specific day are. Can it get any fresher?
